Thermalytica

Thermalytica is a startup focused on solving energy and environmental issues with advanced materials. They are developing ultra-high performance thermal insulation materials, such as their proprietary aerogel product TIISA®, which are imperative for the storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen at sub-zero temperatures. These insulation solutions aim to reduce energy loss in everyday life and industry. Additionally, Thermalytica possesses ultra-high temperature thermal barrier coating (TBC) technology that is key to unlocking the full potential of hydrogen combustion in gas turbines. Their mission is to drive sustainability through cutting-edge materials innovation. TIISA® was invented by the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) and is being commercialized by Thermalytica. This material combines exceptionally low thermal conductivity with unprecedented manufacturing cost. The company is refining mass production technologies and conducting demonstration projects for applications like roof coatings, liquefied hydrogen storage tanks, home appliances, and secondary batteries. Thermalytica also holds expertise in TBC coating technologies for gas turbine applications. Supported by substantial public funding, NEDO, and collaboration with JAXA, Thermalytica aims to be a world-leading partner in building a sustainable and environmentally-friendly society.
